The mining and construction sectors face an insurmountable problem in the Dust that they create. Its adverse effects can be detected in human health and negatively affect the occupational safety of the employees working in the sector. Two different types of dust exist: Primary Dust Source(PDS), formed during the initial crushing, screening and stock drop operations of raw materials, and Secondary Dust Source(SDS) formed on the ground level as the side effect of PDS spreading within the breathable air throughout the operations of a plant by way of either wind or vehicular movements.
Dust sources are generally extremely harmful to a human’s health, our internal organs were not designed to safely function in the midst of modern day environmental issues. Studies have repeatedly shown the detrimental effects of dust to our environment. It has the capacity the travel hundreds and hundreds of miles bringing with it unwanted harmful particles and to wreck havoc on machinery if left untreated.
dust control systems provide the following vital benefits for an enterprise ;- Prevent and reduce dust explosions or fire risks
- Prevent potential occupational accidents by improving vision
- Prevent unpleasant odours
- Reduce cleaning, maintenance and operating costs
- Increase motivation and productivity of the workers by way of a clean and safe working environment
- Provide continuous compliance with existing occupational health and safety regulations
- Protect the reputation of the enterprise by preventing accidents in daily task operations
- Protect the health of employees by eliminating “sick calls” resulting from dust sourced sickness
For an effective dust control systems, smart investment is essential, with a tailored solution and an expert assessment. We understand the importance of dust control in the operations of the businesses effected, our expertise and knowledge in this area allow us to design and supply the ideal solution.

The High Pressure Single Fluid Dust Suppression System atomises the high pressurised water that comes through the single fluid nozzle and forms a 5-30 micron water fog. There is no need for an air compressor, air control panel, water booster and a separate hose for air. In the single fluid system, the water (40-45 bar/580-650 psi) becomes a water fog which is pressurised through the high speed rotating helical part of the nozzle. The helical part of the system allows high speed water to rotate within the nozzle, thus automatically cleaning 50% of the nozzle preventing nozzle blockage. Unlike the double-fluid system, this high pressure water spraying system does not require an air compressor which is used to atomise water in low flow rates. Hence, it is easier to install than the double-fluid system and paves the way for easier response if a malfunction takes place. Single-fluid systems have reduced operating costs than other systems.
To prevent malfunctions in heavily used circumstances and long operational times, quality water supply is essential to the system. Hence, two-step water filters are used in the system to prevent nozzle blockage (80-100 micron automatic back-flush disk filter before the pump and 50 bar /725 psi, 50 micron filters on every line after the pump). It is possible to monitor automation parameters such as pressure-flow rate settings of the water that feeds the nozzles. Proportional controlled-electric actuated valve operations from the ENV-EX’s SCADA software is installed in the control room. This program allows daily monitoring of water consumption, working hours and fault status in case of a malfunction together with troubleshooting advice.
REASONS TO PREFER SINGLE FLUID DUST SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
When changing systems becomes necessary, a single-fluid dust suppression systems that uses only high-pressurised water can have the following advantages:
- Low operation costs: there is no compressor and there are fewer components within the system. It is easy to fix the equipment in case of a malfunction. Due to single fluid technology the design not only uses fewer components but the overall structure is simplified. Water consumption of these systems is comparable to alternative systems.
- Consumption of double-fluid systems (air-water): There is no need for pressurised air, nozzles are supplied by only a single water hose line. Unlike air-water pressured double-fluid systems, there is no need for separate feed lines for water and air at every nozzle. Unlike air-water pressured double-fluid systems, there is no need for separately setting pressure of air and water.
- Maintenance of the system is incredibly elementary due to a straight forward design. Since only a high-pressured pump is used, energy consumption is lower (7.5 -11 kW). Suppressed dust is reintroduced into the system, without using any extra equipment.

Fan Spraying Dust Suppression Systems are equipped with a powerful turbine. It has various areas of usage such as: Cement factories, iron-steel factories, foundries, rolling plants, thermal power plants, batch plants, coal mines, tunnel driving, open mine pits where dynamite is frequently used, road building works, stevedoring works at ports, bulk material transporting works, suppressing odours and dust in landfills and recycling facilities, aggregate crushing, peripheral repairs, building demolitions, lake evaporation, community lands (school gardens, auto parks, stadiums, shopping malls etc.), spraying antifreeze chemicals on the roads and agricultural irrigation. Dust Suppression Systems are ideal for asbestos removal and can be used easily in open or closed area applications. In open areas, its mobility provides usability over a wide area. Its durable mechanical structure provides it with a long operational lifetime.
Optional radio-frequency remote control systems provide the operator with the ability to control the system remotely. Via this remote-control system, vertical (+30°/-30°) and horizontal (355°) rotation of the turbine can be controlled (with the capacity to be limited according to the application area). The system also has automatic and manual control features. While the fan spraying system can be remote controlled in both ENV-EX DSC® series (T, C and P Series), the generator can only be controlled in ENV-EX DSC® T series. ENV-EX DSC® Dust Suppression System consumes very little water and power.
ENV-EX DSC® Dust Suppression System allows you to set nozzle flow rates according to your needs. Water particles at the exit of the nozzle are 25-60 microns (about 40 microns avg.).
